The garden shed is something a lot of us take for granted. It’s usually just….there. Often used as a functional storage space for your garden equipment. Garden sheds, more so now since the pandemic started last year, have been turned into functional and operational retreat spaces, either for working from studio/office space, or somewhere to relax and have as a second living room space.
No matter the use you choose for your shed, you want to make sure the items you store in there are kept protected from the elements. The best way to do this is through the application of suitably constructed EPDM rubber roofing.
At Rubbaseal we are committed to providing you with the tools and information you need to ensure your roofing is water and weather tight. We have developed our very own rubber roofing kit which has been expertly designed to work perfectly for your shed roof, and to protect it from the harsh british weather conditions across the seasons. With a 50 year life span, our kits are supplied in one piece so you have everything you need in one place to fit your EPDM roof. These include water based adhesive, Firestone EPDM RubberCover and more. Each supply comes with a downloadable warranty so you have peace of mind.
Carefully remove the old roof’s surface and make sure the base is clear from any debris, lumps and bumps. Anything trapped under the EPDM will cause the roof to not lay flat and can result in premature lifting and risk your roof not being watertight.
Once you remove the EPDM membrane from it’s packaging, make sure to let it rest for around 30 minutes to let any creases smooth out.
Fold the EPDM back to expose the shed roofs surface and apply the adhesive evenly on the deck with the roller in your EPDM roof kit. Before the adhesive has a chance to dry, apply the membrane to the surface and use a soft brush to smooth it out and make sure it is laid flat.
